A polite young lady won’t telephone young men, they’ll do only if he happens to be her relative. This is the one that my mom always told me when I was growing up. It was simply improper for a girl calling someone from the opposite sex. We should wait for the young men to call us first. My friends and I wait sometimes to get calls, but in vain. If we didn’t meet our life partners accidently,we will be waiting till now. This day, things have changed for our daughters and the generations of young women in the future.
Calling men is perfectly acceptable and even encouraged. There is no stigma attached to picking up the phone and asking a young man out, although these days, the girls are more prone to send an e-mail or text an invitation. Still, the whole taboo against calling men has gone the way of the dodo bird. It is an outdated and very silly. And for the sake of my daughter, Im glad. When friends ask me why am I still single, I have this answer: I’m fussy. In fact, I’m very, very fussy. Am I not correct when I state that loneliness is superior than a confusion and mess.
Clearly, I’m not interested in violent people, substance or alcohol abusers — Clean and sober, and already completed with anger management classes are important starting points for me. There are things that I just cannot tolerate in my world, these include smoking, crude language, bigotry, or condenscension, so if you must, please do not do so in my presence. I avoid becoming involved with anyone that’s still in another relationship as well as anyone who doesn’t have their finances properly organized. Why am I still single? My dreams are for someone who is intelligent, kind, into volunteering to help others, decent to children, and knows life is far more than all about themselves.
At times it might seem impossible to meet a genuinely good person. Nobody knows how men really think because men don’t consider such trivial nonsense and women are incapable of knowing what goes on inside a man’s head. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could have extraterrestrial intelligence come to earth and mindmeld our male counterpoints to read what is really going on inside. Mr. Spock, where are you when we need you ? But even then, you can only average out the thoughts of billions of men, which will be all over the map, so why even bother? Do you really believe that the thoughts of George clooney will give you an insight into the thoughts of Ryan Seacrest.
People who want to know about such things have too much time on their hands. They spend a lot of time gabbing on the phone and watching Oprah. In society biological males can fall into this category however, the majority are truly women.
