Some of the reasons for such acts are that the woman may have become burnt out emotionally and also because she and her husband are drifting apart.

When women become stressed they will seek release which often takes the form of an affair. Indulging in affairs is something that happens because of the need to escape realities and enter into a world of fantasy ‘ even one that is temporary.
Married women justify the reasons for being unfaithful by saying that they have been neglected by their husbands who don’t pay enough attention to them. Furthermore, they loathe it when their husbands take them for granted and so escape by indulging in behavior that involves having thrills.
